Bright Horizons Family Solutions is composed of professional educators, child care specialists, and work/life experts. Following are brief biographies on the company's senior management team in Europe:

Stephen Kramer, Managing Director, Europe

Stephen has overall responsibility for Bright Horizons operations and growth in the United Kingdom and Ireland. He recently transitioned from a leadership role at the parent company based in the United States. Prior to joining Bright Horizons, Stephen founded and led College Coach, a leading education company that successfully partners with leading multinational companies including Astra Zeneca, IBM, Morgan Stanley, and PepsiCo. His company was acquired by Bright Horizons in 2006 and has proven to be an important service extension for the company.
Previously, he initiated and led the education practice at Fidelity Ventures, the venture capital arm of Fidelity Investments. While at Fidelity Ventures, he invested in and consulted to a number of education service companies. Prior to his experience at Fidelity, Stephen was a consultant with Arthur D. Little, where he directed high growth organisations in the areas of strategy and operations. Stephen studied at the London School of Economics and graduated with highest distinction from Babson College and the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. Stephen sits on a number of corporate and non-profit boards including Building Excellent Schools and GotVMail Communications.

Martina Murphy, Director of Operations, Scotland and Ireland

Martina Murphy qualified at The Institute of Technology in Waterford in 1985 with a National Diploma in Childcare. She has since achieved a BA in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management and an MBA from at The Smurfit Graduate School, UCD. Prior to joining Bright Horizons, Martina managed a successful Early Care & Education Centre in Dublin. In addition she acted as a consultant and advisor to a number of individuals setting up day nurseries and has strong skills in the area of human resource management.

Martina has been actively involved in The National Children’s Nurseries Association (NCNA) since 1989, acting as chairperson of this association between 1995 and 1998. She represented the NCNA on the working group, which devised The Pre-School Regulations 1996 and also she sat on the expert working group that, under the auspices of the Department of Justice, Equality & Law Reform, developed a national strategy for child care. Martina has been involved in coordinating an introductory nursery management course, offered by the NCNA to members, and lectures for University College Dublin. As Director of Operations for Scotland and Ireland Martina oversees the operations of all Bright Horizons nurseries in those countries.

Carole Edmond, Managing Director - UK

Carole has responsibility for Bright Horizons operations in the United Kingdom. Carole recently joined Bright Horizons following the acquisition of Teddies Nurseries which was the childcare division of BUPA, the leading health and care organisation. Carole led BUPA’s entry into the childcare sector in 1998 in both the employer sponsored and day care market and grew the business from a start up position to one of the top ten providers in the UK. Prior to setting up the childcare division Carole worked in healthcare in both the business to business and consumer markets in the UK.

Carole is one of the founding members of the Major Provider Group which represents the larger operators in the childcare sector in government affairs. Carole also works with the International Centre for the Mixed Economy of Childcare which is a multi-disciplinary research centre based in London.

Bright Horizons United States

Following are brief biographies on the company's senior management team in the United States:

David Lissy, Chief Executive Officer

David Lissy joined Bright Horizons in 1997 as the Chief Development Officer the role he served in prior to becoming Chief Executive Officer in January of 2002. He is responsible for leading the company's growth strategy including it's recent global expansion into Europe and Canada.
Dave serves as an executive resource to many of the company's client partners and has helped to develop new and innovative services that meet the evolving needs of working families. In July of 2001, he was elected to the Board of Directors of Bright Horizons and currently serves on the boards of Social Service Coordinators, a proprietary elder care company and the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children. Prior to joining the company, Dave held several marketing and general management roles in the health care field with Aetna and US Healthcare over eleven years and most recently was Senior Vice President/General Manager for the New England Region of Aetna US Healthcare.
Dave is a graduate of Ithaca College and he and his wife are the parents of twin daughters.

Mary Ann Tocio, President and Chief Operating Officer

Mary Ann Tocio is responsible for Bright Horizons' domestic and global operations. She also has overarching responsibility for human resources, construction and facility management, programme development and education services, administration, and information technology. Mary Ann joined Bright Horizons in 1992 with many years of experience managing a multi-site service organisation and more than 20 years of experience in the health care industry.
Mary Ann was previously the Senior Vice President of Operations for Health Stop Medical Management, Inc., in Boston, a national provider of ambulatory care and occupational health services. In that role, she was responsible for day-to-day operations of the health care units, sales of occupational medical services, and the development of affiliation agreements with participating hospitals and corporations. Ms. Tocio is one of the few women in the U.S. to serve as President of a public company. She received her MBA from Simmons College Graduate School of Management, and was honoured by Simmons with the Phyllis Rappaport Alumnae Achievement Award, which recognises alumnae who further the school's tradition of creating broader opportunities for women.
Mary Ann serves on the board of directors of Telecare Corporation, a leading provider and manager of adult mental health services, and The George B.H. Macomber Company, a high-design builder and construction management company based in Boston. Last year she was elected to the board of directors at Bright Horizons.
